Job summary

DRW is seeking a Senior Engineer for its Virtualization team to guide the OpenStack-based platform design and implementation. You will influence architectural decisions, set engineering standards, and ensure cost-efficiency and performance.

You will own the platform, automate tasks, coach engineers, and provide on-call resilience in a fast-paced trading environment, collaborating across compute, storage, and network teams.

Qualifications

• Expert level OpenStack administration.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, networking and storage.
• Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible for IaC.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve infrastructure, processes, and standards for DRW’s Virtualization platform.
• Relentlessly automate repetitive manual tasks.
• Design, implement, and manage OpenStack clouds, including deployment, configuration, and maintenance of OpenStack components.
• Diagnose and rectify complex problems involving multiple teams related to OpenStack including compute, storage, and networking issues.
• Provide exceptional customer service to our platform’s users.
• Coach engineers on best practices, help investigate outages, set a high standard for operational and technical excellence.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues in a high-intensity trading environment as part of an on-call rotation.
