Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Sr. Staff Platform Operations Engineer to design, deploy, and run the internal Linux-based platform that supports engineers and business teams.

You will own deployment, reliability, and automated management of enterprise IT services across on‑premise and cloud environments. You will lead Infrastructure-as-Code efforts, automate pipelines, and act as a technical SME with cross‑functional teams to ensure high availability, security, and scalable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 8+ years of enterprise Linux experience.
• Deep, expert-level Linux systems administration across Red Hat, Rocky, Ubuntu.
• Strong Python and shell scripting for automation and tooling.
• Proven Infra-as-Code experience (Terraform, Ansible) and Git.
• Hybrid infrastructure with on‑premise (OpenStack, networking) and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Storage administration with Dell PowerStore or Pure Storage.
• Security-first mindset for automated, resilient infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and support on‑premise and cloud Linux infrastructure and core IT services.
• Develop and maintain IaC and automation with Terraform, Ansible, Foreman/MaaS.
• Automate system security, patching, hardening, and configuration management.
• Build deployment pipelines for IT infra services using GitHub/Git, Ansible, scripting.
• Serve as SME with IT Systems, CloudOps, Security, and Engineering teams.
