Job summary

The Royal Marsden is seeking a highly motivated senior staff nurse or experienced Band 6 to join the Olayan unit in Day Care Services. You will lead a team, manage shifts and contribute to service improvements in a modern, patient-focused environment.

Flexible patterns and professional development support are offered to help maintain work-life balance. Essential experience includes intravenous drug administration and oncology/post-registration nursing experience.

Qualifications

• NMC Registration (essential)
• Evidence of ongoing professional development (essential)
• RMH Certificate in Intravenous Drug Administration or to be obtained within three months (essential)
• Qualification in oncology or specialty (desirable)
• Diploma or Degree level study (desirable)
• Recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
• Experience in intravenous drug administration (essential)
• Post-registration nursing experience in oncology or specialty (essential)
• Experience in chemotherapy administration (desirable)
• Experience in clinical management (desirable)
• Evidence of relevant teaching experience (desirable)
• Knowledge of clinical trials management (desirable)
• Venepuncture and/or cannulation skills (desirable)
• Computer literacy (e.g. Word, Outlook) (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients as planned with shift co-ordinator
• Lead and manage a busy day care unit, including shifts and service improvement
• Complete first-level cancer patient and family assessments to inform care planning and delivery
