Job summary

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust in the North Cumbria region seeks a Specialist Grade in Old Age Psychiatry to provide medical input to the community Treatment team/memory service. The post is for 10 programmed activities with 8 for direct clinical care and 2 for supporting professional activities.

The post holder will work with a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with Crisis Team and inpatient services, and not sponsor GMC for this role.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent with GMC registration and licence to practice.
• 12 years medical work experience; at least 6 years in a relevant specialty.
• MRCPsych or equivalent; postgraduate qualifications.
• Approved under Mental Health Act 1983; AC status or working towards.
• On Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Engage in assessment, diagnosis and formulation of patients referred to the EIP.
• Deliver excellence in clinical care and promote patient safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and inpatient services.
• Respect patients' rights and dignity; consider individual and cultural needs.
• Work with families and carers in the patient’s best interests.
