Job summary

Inyanga Maritime seeks a Project Hydrographic Surveyor to provide technical leadership and project management for hydrographic, geophysical and geotechnical survey activities supporting HydroWing and Morlais projects. The hybrid role combines technical survey expertise with client liaison and offshore execution oversight.

Qualifications

• Degree in Hydrography, Oceanography, Geomatics or related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience managing offshore survey projects.
• Strong understanding of hydrographic and geophysical survey techniques.
• Experience with offshore renewable energy or offshore construction projects.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Experience supervising offshore operations.
• Desirable: Category A or B Hydrographic Surveyor.
• Desirable: Chartered status or working towards professional registration.
• Desirable: Experience with QINSy, EIVA, Hypack or similar software.
• Desirable: GIS experience.
• Desirable: Offshore wind or tidal energy experience.
• Desirable: ROV survey experience.
• Desirable: Cable route engineering.
• Desirable: UXO survey knowledge.
• Desirable: Offshore installation experience.
• Desirable: GWO and offshore survival certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage hydrographic survey work packages from tender through to final deliverables.
• Develop survey scopes of work and technical specifications.
• Prepare survey methodologies and execution plans.
• Manage project schedules, budgets and survey resources.
• Coordinate multiple survey campaigns simultaneously.
• Act as Inyanga’s offshore survey representative.
• Supervise survey contractors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate vessel operations.
• Monitor offshore survey progress.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Support marine operations associated with HydroWing deployments.
• Oversee bathymetric, geophysical and geotechnical surveys.
• Coordinate UXO surveys, cable route surveys and installation support surveys.
• Support pre- and post-installation surveys.
• Coordinate ROV inspection campaigns.
• Support construction and O&M activities.
• Review survey procedures and specifications.
• Ensure survey data quality.
• Review survey reports and deliverables.
• Manage GIS and survey data.
• Provide technical advice to engineering and project teams.
• Liaise with clients and survey contractors.
• Attend project meetings.
• Coordinate with engineers and marine operations teams.
• Support commercial proposals and tender submissions.
