What is the opportunity?

As a member of the Committee Governance Office, the Senior Officer will support the Wealth Management Europe (WME) Governance Framework by working closely with the relevant committees' secretaries. This role involves regular interaction with the Committee Governance Office Manager, committee secretaries, and key stakeholders to enhance governance processes.

This position supports or acts as the committee secretary for various committees within the WME governance framework. Responsibilities include preparing agendas, minutes, action logs, managing committee reporting, updating Terms of Reference, and managing escalations.

What will you do?

  • Support the committee secretary for various committees within the business governance framework.
  • Assist committee members and contributors on governance issues, ensuring consistency and standardization.
  • Help plan and prepare for committee meetings, including drafting agendas, minutes, and action logs.
  • Collaborate with the committee secretary to establish reporting standards, ensure escalations are made appropriately, and actions are completed within the committee framework, the boards, and the business.
  • Provide support to all governance committees by responding to inquiries and sourcing solutions related to protocols, meetings, terms of reference, minute-taking, documentation, and other governance matters.
  • Participate in cross-departmental projects requiring governance support, such as reorganizations, committee setup, reporting standardization, and escalation frameworks.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Experience in company secretarial or legal roles within the financial services industry.
  • Experience in administering governance committees from a company secretarial perspective.
  • Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-have

  • Legal qualification (e.g., Legal Practice Course) or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting businesses or entities in Europe, particularly Jersey, Ireland, or the UK.
  • Qualified Company Secretary experience.
