Job summary

Circle Health Group’s The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Physiotherapy team on a bank basis. This “as and when required” role covers busy periods and staff leave, delivering specialist OT care to patients.

Key duties include assessment, planning and delivery of interventions, supervising junior staff, and keeping HCPC-compliant records, with a competitive hourly rate of up to £26.

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
• Experience supervising junior staff or students.
• Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver specialist occupational therapy interventions tailored to individual patient goals.
• Support patients in developing independence with personal care, domestic tasks, functional mobility, and cognitive or sensory challenges.
• Manage a complex caseload independently, providing specialist input into treatment plans and discharge decisions.
• Provide clinical supervision and day-to-day support to junior therapists, assistants, and students.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with HCPC and organisational standards.
• Support service evaluation, audit, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care efficiency.
