Job Opportunity: Senior Nurse/Midwife Lead for Excellence in Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, passionate, and experienced senior nurse/midwife to lead the Excellence in Care programme across NHS Fife and the Health & Social Care Partnership.

About Excellence in Care: This is a national care assurance programme designed to support the implementation of a Quality Management System by ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective person-centred care is delivered to the people of Fife. The Lead will be pivotal in operationalising Scottish Government objectives through collaboration with services across Fife, influencing and driving quality assurance, and promoting a culture of learning where the workforce can flourish. The role involves participation in groups to drive improvement activities and support the creation and implementation of leadership resources aligned with Excellence in Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the Scottish Government, National Services Scotland, Healthcare Improvement Scotland, NHS Education for Scotland, and the Director of Nursing, Corporate, to support the implementation of Excellence in Care.
  2. Provide a key link between local programme delivery, the NHS Board, and national reporting.
  3. Lead the development of the Leading Excellence in Care Education and Development Framework within NHS Fife and the HSCP.
  4. Utilise data-driven approaches to assess and improve care quality and provide assurance.
  5. Develop and encourage quality improvement initiatives to enhance person-centred outcomes and staff experience.
  6. Provide expert guidance, education, coaching, and mentorship to teams to support best practices.
  7. Work in partnership with senior leaders, clinicians, and care professionals to embed a culture of continuous improvement and assurance.

Ideal Candidate: A dynamic, confident nurse leader with excellent leadership, influencing, and motivational skills, capable of shaping nursing and midwifery practices and supporting the Corporate Nursing Strategy.
