Job summary

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Lotus Assessment Suite within the Home Treatment Team and Liaison Psychiatry. The role includes running the suite as Nurse in Charge, supervising junior staff and ensuring safe, person-centred care across the acute pathway.

The developmental Band 5 post requires NMC registration (adult, mental health or learning disabilities) and involves crisis planning, discharge planning, and working with the MDT.

Qualifications

• NMC registration as an adult, mental health or learning disabilities nurse.
• Experience of research-based and reflective practice; use supervision to develop skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care meeting the NMC code.
• Lead assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person-centred care.
• Coordinate the assessment suite as Nurse in Charge; supervise junior staff.
• Engage distressed patients using de-escalation and therapeutic techniques.
• Work with MDTs and local agencies; safeguarding for vulnerable people.
