Job summary

ARM in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to lead safety case activities for major UK defence and nuclear programmes. The role is based in Glasgow with occasional travel to client sites, and carries a contract of up to six months with a rate of up to £89 per hour (umbrella).

You will provide safety case leadership and technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, developing strategies, conducting hazard studies, and delivering high-quality safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in nuclear safety case development.
• Proven ability to engage stakeholders and lead teams.
• Experience producing high-quality technical safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver nuclear safety case strategies.
• Support safety-informed design and engineering decisions.
• Conduct safety assessments and hazard studies (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN).
• Produce safety documentation, including PSRs, PCSRS and ALARP assessments.
• Engage with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support engineering substantiation activities.
• Lead and coordinate safety case work packages and teams.
