Job summary

Manpower UK in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to support major UK defence and nuclear programmes. You will provide safety case leadership across the full project lifecycle and engage with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams.

The role is based in Glasgow with occasional travel to client sites; it requires strong experience in safety case strategies, hazard studies and producing high-quality safety documentation, with a proven leadership track record.

Qualifications

• Strong nuclear safety case experience within defence or nuclear sectors.
• Experience producing high-quality technical safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver nuclear safety case strategies.
• Support safety-informed design and engineering decisions.
• Conduct safety assessments and hazard studies (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN).
• Produce safety documentation, including PSRs, PCSRS and ALARP assessments.
• Engage with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support engineering substantiation activities.
• Lead and coordinate safety case work packages and teams.

Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer

Location: Glasgow (3 days onsite per-week)

Duration: 12 months (possible temp to perm opportunity)
