Job Description:

Westlakes Recruit is currently recruiting for a Senior Consultant - Nuclear Safety, ideally with a background in the nuclear or defence sector, to be engaged on a permanent basis in Barrow with flexible hybrid working arrangements.

What you'll be doing:

• Act as safety engineering lead, providing recommendations through analysis to improve safety engineering performance and departmental outputs.
• Facilitate the build and commissioning delivery programme through innovative engineering solutions and problem solving.
• Ensure the maintenance of design intent during the build and commissioning phases.
• Advise and perform Intelligent Customer duties regarding documentation, advice, and services provided to the business.
• Support assessment of design changes.
• Assess build maturity for entry into subsequent build phases.
• Provide technically sound challenges to existing requirements.
• Write and present reports to communicate nuclear safety matters to internal and external stakeholders.

Your skills and experiences:

• Degree-qualified in Engineering or Physical Science disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, or Physics.
• Knowledge of the nuclear industry and Nuclear Regulations.
• Previous exposure to Engineering Lifecycle processes.
• Proven experience in justifying design changes.
• Proven technical report writing skills.
