Carmichael UK seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major nuclear project in Cumbria. You will lead commercial and cost-management activities, ensuring adherence to strict nuclear requirements and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities include budgeting, cost forecasting, cash flow, contract administration, sub-contractor management, and robust change control processes, with emphasis on auditability and governance across the project team.

Qualifications

• Experience leading commercial and cost-management activities on major projects.
• Ability to prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow profiles.
• Contract administration including amendments, compensation events, and change control.

Responsibilities

• Lead all commercial and cost management activities for assigned work packages in a nuclear project.
• Prepare, manage, and report detailed budgets, forecasts, and cash flows with high accuracy.
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with nuclear amendments and change control procedures.
• Manage valuation of works, interim applications, compensation events, and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities in collaboration with project risk managers.
• Lead procurement and subcontract management including tendering, evaluation, and appointment of subcontractors with nuclear compliance.
• Oversee subcontractor accounts, payments, changes, claims, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure rigorous change management with full traceability and justification in nuclear environments.
• Provide cost assurance and governance to withstand audits and regulatory scrutiny.
• Liaise with engineering, planning, and project controls to align cost, schedule, and scope changes.
• Support development and maintenance of the project baseline and capture cost impacts of design changes.
