Job summary

Oakland Care in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Night Care Assistant to support residents through the night, lead a team of care assistants, perform regular night checks, and respond to night-time needs. You will administer medications after training, maintain care plans, and ensure high standards of dignity and wellbeing, while fostering a warm family-like atmosphere.

The role requires a Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification or progression, at least two years of care experience,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in delivering care or as a Senior Care Assistant.
• Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
• Trained in medication administration.
• Excellent people and customer service skills.
• Ability to induct, supervise and mentor junior staff.
• Time management and delegation within a team.
• Strong communication skills—oral and written—with digital literacy.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of Health Care Assistants, acting as a positive role model and trusted point of support.
• Assisting with personal care and night-time support, conducting regular checks and responding to night-time needs.
• Administering medication (post-training and guidelines).
• Updating care plans and maintaining accurate records.
• Delivering high-quality, person-centred care with dignity and wellbeing.
