Job summary

The Lilacs in Exeter is seeking a dedicated Night Senior Care Assistant for a full-time role. You will support residents overnight, assist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing, and help ensure a safe, comfortable environment.

You will contribute to care plans, monitor nutrition, assist with dressing and hygiene, and work closely with the Care Home Manager to maintain high standards of health and safety. Previous experience in care settings is desirable.

Qualifications

• Assist in the staff supervision as directed by the Care Home Manager; help, assist in the orientation of new staff, support their training and development.
• To participate in counselling sessions and where required, the disciplinary process.
• To assist the Care Home Manager in identifying staff training needs.
• To participate in service training programmes.
• To attend relevant courses and conferences with the Company.
• To compile duty staff rotas.
• Previous experience in a care home, hospital, or similar kitchen environment is desirable but not essential
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Good communication skills with a professional and respectful approach to colleagues and residents
• Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine interest in improving the lives of older or vulnerable people
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and carry out manual handling and cleaning tasks
• A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs

Responsibilities

Night Senior Care Assistant -
The Lilacs: Our lovely home in Exeter, The Lilacs is looking for afull time Night Senior Care Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of individual care plans for each resident, including nutritional needs, pressure sore prevention, moving and handling requirements, continence management.
  
  
  • Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet.
  
  
  • Help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities including incontinence and help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment.
  
  
  • Care for residents who are temporarily sick and need minor dressings, bed nursing etc.
  
  
  • Help care for residents who are dying.
  
  
  • Make and change beds, tidy resident's rooms, light cleaning and the emptying of commodes.
  
  
  • Inspect resident's laundry and where necessary arrange for repair with the housekeeper.
  
  
  • Help in the promotion of mental and physical activities of residents through talking to them, taking them out when possible, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.

  • To ensure that all petty cash and residents funds transactions are recorded accurately.

  • Be mindful of Health and Safety issues e.g., trailing flexes across corridors and wet floors. Ensure warning signs are used and clearly displayed.

Rate of pay: £13.68- £14.83per hour.
