Hollybank Trustees Ltd in Chippenham seeks a Senior Night Care Assistant to cover maternity leave at Middlefields House, a state-of-the-art home for 48 residents. You will provide compassionate, high-quality residential care and support residents’ health and well-being.

The role requires leading shifts, hands-on involvement, teamwork, and medication management, with a strong emphasis on dignity, respect, and person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Care Assistant in residential care.
• Willingness to lead shifts and take a hands-on role.
• Able to work in a team and undertake diverse tasks to provide high-quality care.
• Experience in medication management and administration.
• Experience in person-centred care planning and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, professional care to residents.
• Supervise care team during duty, manage health, safety, and security; administer medications; arrange cover for sickness.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene, e.g., baths.
• Support residents with eating and drinking.
• Know residents to offer comfort and reassurance.
• Oversee residents' care and wellbeing; ensure care plans are up-to-date.
• Encourage independence and community participation within the home.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect.
• Assist with end-of-life care; perform other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking to appoint compassionate and committed Senior Care Assistant to cover maternity leave in our newly built, state of the art Middlefields House catering for 48 residents. View our stunning home here .

The Senior Care Assistant role is vital inresidential care of the older people, promoting their health and well-being on a personal level.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a high quality, professional service of care to our residents.
• Supervise all staff on the Care Team during your period of duty (including among other responsibilities: taking responsibility for Health, Safety and Security; administering medications to residents; arranging cover for staff who are absent through sickness; etc).
• Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping a resident with a bath.
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Get to know residents so as to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.
• Supervise the care and well-being of our residents.
• Ensure residents’care plans are up-to-date.
• Support our residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage themto be part of the community within the home.
• Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs and treat our residents with dignity and respect.
• Assist in the care at end of life.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you are required to perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.

About you:

• You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them;
• You will preferably have a RQF accreditation in Health &Social care at level 3 or above;
• You haveexperience working as a Senior CareAssistant in residential care;
• You must be willing to both leadshifts and take a “hands on” role as required; and
• You need to be able to work in a team and be willing to take on any task to provide an excellent level of care to our residents.
• Experience in medication management and administration
• Have experience in Person-centred care planning and documentation
