Job summary

The Daily Mail is seeking a Senior Newsletters Editor to lead the writing, editing and production of our morning newsletter, with hours 1pm to 9pm, Mon-Thurs, and earlier hours on Fridays. The role is full-time with hybrid work, located in London.

You will bring sharp copy, strong subbing, and excellent news judgement, plus data literacy to curate stories, optimise send times, and collaborate across desks for best coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field.
• Adept at writing sharp copy, subbing and curating articles for a digital news publisher.
• Excellent editorial judgement and news sense.
• Ability to work and decide quickly.
• Strong analytical skills with data-informed editorial decisions.
• Excellent data literacy to interpret trends and tell concise reports.
• Ability to work with experienced journalists and build credibility.
• Creative problem solving and willingness to experiment.
• Experience with newsletters and email best practices.
• Experience in a fast-paced newsroom.

Responsibilities

• Build and write/edit the daily morning news newsletter with a lively tone and compelling content.
• Use news sense to decide optimal send times during live events.
• Maintain editorial standards—accuracy, clarity, responsible reporting.
• Analyse data to curate the most important, engaging stories for the newsletter.
• Use performance data to inform story placement and visuals for future editions.
• Collaborate with desks across the newsroom to reflect our reporting and audience needs.
• Translate data insights into actionable newsletter strategy for the team.
• Suggest and run experiments to optimise engagement and conversions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in audience engagement.
