Job summary

Optima Recruitment is seeking a Security Engineer in Redhill to design, implement and monitor cybersecurity across internal and customer networks and systems. You will work with Security, IT, Compliance and Engineering teams to provide expert guidance and incident response support.

The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco Firewalls, Juniper, SIEM and IDS/IPS, plus vulnerability management and secure network design. UK SC clearance is preferred and 5+ years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in security engineering across large networks.
• Experience designing and managing secure networks.
• Ability to investigate and resolve security incidents and provide incident response.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills; able to explain issues to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security policies, standards, procedures and technical controls across networks.
• Act as a technical centre of excellence for network and device security.
• Monitor and investigate security events using SIEM/IDS/IPS and other tools; manage vulnerabilities and support testing.
• Provide third-line technical support for complex network security issues.
• Produce and maintain security configurations, schematics, and documentation.
• Advise colleagues and customers on threats, vulnerabilities and best practices.
