Domestic & General is seeking a Senior Network Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, performance and security of our hybrid network estate across Azure and on‑premises. You’ll lead major incident resolution, drive automation and observability, and support a transition toward Azure-native architecture.

This hands‑on senior role requires experience in Azure networking, BGP/OSPF, VPNs and security, with a focus on scalable, resilient connectivity.

Qualifications

• Experience with Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.
• Proficiency in enterprise routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, DNS and VPNs.
• Hands-on with network security technologies (Zero Trust).
• Strong monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/Bicep/Ansible or scripting.

Responsibilities

Senior Network Reliability Engineer

Permanent Position

Hybrid Role from our Wimbledon Office with On Call Work

About the Role

This is a hands-on senior engineering position with responsibility for the performance, reliability and security of our hybrid network environment across Azure, security, remote access, load balancing and branch connectivity. You'll lead the resolution of complex network challenges, drive automation and observability, and support our ongoing transition to a more Azure-native architecture.

Key responsibilities:

• Own the reliability, performance and availability of Azure and hybrid network services.
• Act as the senior escalation point for major incidents and complex technical issues.
• Design and enhance Azure networking, connectivity and security solutions.
• Support and optimise technologies including F5 BIG-IP, Cisco ASA, Check Point, Zscaler and SD-WAN.
• Drive network modernisation, simplification and automation initiatives.
• Implement monitoring, Infrastructure as Code and operational best practices.
• Partner with Cloud, Security and Engineering teams to deliver resilient, scalable solutions.

About You

You'll be an experienced network engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, taking ownership and delivering secure, reliable services at scale. We're looking for someone with experience in:

• Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.
• Enterprise networking, including routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, DNS and VPNs.
• F5 BIG-IP, Cisco ASA, Check Point and Zscaler.
• Network security, segmentation and Zero Trust principles.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
• Automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, Ansible or scripting.Supporting production environments and leading incident resolution.

You will also:

• Lead by example while remaining hands-on technically.
• Take ownership from identification through to resolution.
• Build strong relationships through collaboration and technical credibility.
• Mentor and develop fellow engineers.
• Balance delivery pace with security, resilience and operational excellence.
