Job summary

Defence is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for a 6-month contract in Basildon, onsite 3–5 days per week. The role focuses on time-sensitive, safety-critical networking in laboratory and development environments.

Candidates should have TSN, DDS, VLAN configuration, and strong systems integration/test experience in defence or critical industrial contexts. Open to Outside IR35 LTD rate of £73.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Recent experience with TSN in lab/defence environments.
• DDS experience (RTI/OpenDDS) desirable.
• Strong understanding of VLANs and IP networking.
• Experience in integration & test environments and trials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain network architecture for laboratory environments.
• Support and maintain lab infrastructure and development areas.
• Configure systems according to Lead Systems Engineer requirements.
• Support integration, testing and trials activities.

Job description

Location: Basildon (3-5 days per week onsite) Duration: 6 month contract Rate: £73.40ph LTD (Outside IR35) Role details: We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to support our defence client on a contract basis. This is not a traditional enterprise networking role. We're particularly interested in candidates who have worked within systems integration, integration & test, trials, or mission-critical environments.

Job Requirements: We are looking for a candidate with recent experience of TSN (Time Sensitive Networking), DDS and VLAN Configuration.
