Job summary

Addition invites experienced Network Engineer to join its defence technology and IT infrastructure team in Portsmouth. You will support secure, high-performance network systems across multiple projects, ensure uptime, and contribute to security and ITIL-based processes.

You'll work hybrid on-site with 3 days per week in Portsmouth, collaborating with cross-functional teams, configuring Juniper SRX environments, VMware ESXi, and diverse Windows/Linux platforms to deliver robust communications

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Network Engineer in a professional IT environment.
• Strong networking knowledge: routing, switching, troubleshooting.
• Experience with Juniper SRX, VPNs, VLANs, cyber patching.
• Familiarity with VMware ESXi virtualization.
• Experience in Windows and Linux environments.
• Ability to investigate complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent IT experience.
• Eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support and maintain secure network infrastructure across multiple technical projects.

Main Skills Needed

• Previous experience working as a Network Engineer within a professional IT environment.
• Strong networking knowledge, including routing, switching and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Juniper SRX environments, including VPNs, VLANs and cyber patching.
• Familiarity with virtualised infrastructure, particularly VMware ESXi.
• Understanding of Microsoft, Windows and Linux environments.
• Ability to investigate complex technical issues and deliver effective solutions.
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent commercial IT experience.
• Eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.
