Senior Network Engineer – Managed Services & Cloud

Job summary

Spectrum IT is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a skilled NOC team in Milton Keynes. You will support a diverse customer base across industries, covering networking, infrastructure, cloud, virtualization and security.

The role involves technical escalation, designing and implementing network solutions, and contributing to change and problem management in an ITIL environment. Occasional travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience across Cisco CCNP-level networking and Nexus switching.
• Experience with firewalls such as Fortinet, Check Point or Palo Alto.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux servers; virtualization with VMware ESXi/vSAN.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across complex customer environments and managed services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and infrastructure incidents.
• Contribute to solution design, high-level and low-level design documentation, implementations and technical projects.
• Act as a technical escalation point and subject matter expert.
• Work within an ITIL-based service environment, supporting SLAs, KPIs and change/problem management.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
• Build strong customer relationships and deliver a high level of technical service.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites, data centres and offices in Milton Keynes/Watford.
