Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IP networking fundamentals (BGP, OSPF) and related routing protocols.
  • Experience designing and operating enterprise wireless networks at scale (Wi‑Fi 6/6E).
  • Proven troubleshooting skills in Wi‑Fi, switches, and routers.
  • Experience with firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA) and security best practices.

Responsibilities

Amazon MGM Studios is seeking a Senior Network Development Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and operation of secure, high-performance network and wireless infrastructure across our global production facilities. You'll work at the intersection of entertainment and technology ensuring that the networks powering content creation for Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, and our original productions are reliable, scalable, and secure.


Key job responsibilities


  • Own the network architecture roadmap across studio production facilities.

  • Design and optimize enterprise network and WiFi for high-density studio and stage environments.

  • Work with Amazon Security to build zero-trust network solutions and maintain compliance with content protection standards.

  • Support and troubleshoot network, compute and storage systems (NAS, SAN, media servers) on-premises and cloud.

  • Build automation to reduce manual work and keep environments consistent.

  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and SLAs for connectivity services.

  • Plan capacity for upcoming productions, facility growth, and new tech rollouts.

  • Mentor engineers and set technical standards for the team.

  • Connect on-premises production environments to cloud services.

  • Provide white-glove support for active productions, troubleshooting network, WiFi, and infrastructure issues with urgency.

  • Respond to escalations and work with vendors to resolve outages quickly.


Please note this role will require a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays due to the nature of Studio based work

About the team

The Media Systems Engineering team designs and delivers production and post-production environments, technology solutions, and hybrid infrastructure that automate, streamline, and optimize audio and video workflows throughout the content creation lifecycle at Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video.


Basic Qualifications


  • Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies

  • Experience with industry standard tools and scripting languages (Python or Perl) for automation

  • Bachelor's degree, or experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering)

  • Experience and proven troubleshooting skills, specifically in the Wi‑Fi, switch and router areas

  • Demonstrated industry experience designing and operating enterprise wireless networks at scale (Cisco, Aruba, or equivalent; 802.11ax/WiFi 6/6E)

  • Expert level knowledge of enterprise firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or equivalent)

  • Experience with network monitoring, observability, and capacity planning tools


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working for a production company, studio, or television network

  • Experience with infrastructure as code, ops automation, and configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible

  • Knowledge of security best practices

  • Familiarity with AV-over-IP protocols and high‑bandwidth media workflows (NDI, SMPTE 2110, Dante)

  • Previous experience with AWS networking services (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN)

  • Experience with SD‑WAN, MPLS, or dedicated circuit management across international sites

  • CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent professional certification
