Job summary

VirtueTech Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior .NET Engineer for a London-based energy trading client. The role is hybrid, paying £750/day Inside IR35, focused on position reporting, live intraday P&L and risk visibility.

You'll work on on-prem systems and AWS, using Kafka, Kubernetes and modern data pipelines to support front-office trading teams. Collaborating with traders and engineering squads, you'll build high-performance, reliable services where speed and accuracy are critical in

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET.
• Experience building real-time, event-driven or data-intensive applications.
• Exposure to Kafka, Kubernetes and modern distributed systems.
• Experience working within energy trading, commodities, financial markets or another front-office trading environment.
• An understanding of position reporting, intraday exposure, trading risk or P&L systems

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain position-reporting systems used by front-office trading teams.
• Build and enhance applications that track live intraday trading positions and associated risk exposures.
• Support real-time visibility of potential profit and loss (P&L), helping traders understand their exposure as market conditions change.
• Develop scalable, event-driven services and data pipelines to support trading and risk applications.
• Work across a modern technology stack spanning on-premises infrastructure and AWS.
• Collaborate closely with traders, quantitative developers and other engineering teams to deliver robust front-office solutions.
• Ensure systems remain performant, reliable and accurate in a time-sensitive trading environment.
