Square One Resources seeks an experienced Graph Database Architect to design and own a Neo4j platform on Microsoft Azure. You will define graph ontology, deployment standards, and cost strategy to support scalable data and AI solutions.

You will own architectural decisions to ensure security, resilience, and performance aligned with enterprise data and AI requirements, with remote UK work for a six-month contract.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing Neo4j graph database platforms.
• Strong expertise in Cypher, graph modelling and ontology design.
• Experience with vector indexes, graph retrieval and knowledge graph architectures.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure data and AI services.
• Experience designing secure, scalable and highly available database platforms.
• Knowledge of Python, data ingestion pipelines and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with performance optimisation, cloud infrastructure and cost governance.

Responsabilités

• Define the end-to-end Neo4j architecture, including graph ontology and schemas.
• Establish standards for graph-based retrieval and multi-hop querying.
• Design scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Determine deployment approaches using Neo4j AuraDB or Azure VM/container infra.
• Architect integrations with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Data Factory and Functions.
• Define operational standards for monitoring, security, backup and DR.
• Lead cost optimisation and FinOps for Azure infrastructure.
• Define deployment, governance and operational best practices for the graph platform.
