As a Senior Naval Architect, you’ll have an extraordinary role. Babcock is rapidly establishing itself as an international naval ship designer and builder. We have built on the success of the UK MoD Type-31 Frigate and secured contracts for export variants with overseas customers. Our engineering team is actively working on shipbuilding and life extension programs worldwide, from fast attack craft to aircraft carriers.

Develop designs through concept and early-stage design, support the bidding process, and deliver complex structural solutions within an engaging team environment. Responsibilities include authoring, reviewing, and substantiating marine designs through calculations, simulations, and diagnostic tests. You will lead product development throughout the design lifecycle, provide technical support to key customers, and act as Technical Authority with deep subject knowledge of marine engineering.
This is a full-time role (37 hours/week) with hybrid working: 2 days in-office and 3 days remote.
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. Many roles are subject to national security and trade restrictions, which may be affected by nationality, citizenship, or residency.
