Job summary

Derby Independent Automotive Specialist in Derbyshire is hiring a skilled Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester to join an established workshop team. If you hold a valid MOT Smart Card and strong diagnostic fault-finding capabilities, this role offers long-term stability in a high-quality, supportive environment.

The successful candidate will perform Class 4 MOT tests, routine servicing, and complex repairs, with digital job cards and a focus on right-first-time quality.

Qualifications

• Active DVSA Class 4 MOT Tester Licence (Mandatory).
• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time-served equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic fault-finding abilities across multi-brand vehicles.
• Full UK Driving Licence and a stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Conduct official Class 4 MOT tests in DVSA standards.
• Isolate and repair complex faults across petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric models.
• Perform servicing, cambelt/timing chain work, and clutch overhauls.
• Complete digital job cards and communicate with service management.
• Maintain right-first-time quality within a supportive team.
