Job summary

Perfect Placement are recruiting on behalf of our client for an MOT Technician at their busy service centre in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. This role offers a stable environment, a competitive salary, and clear career progression for an experienced motor vehicle professional.

You will conduct MOT testing to DVSA standards, service and repair vehicles, and diagnose various systems. A valid MOT Tester licence or Level 3 qualification is required, along with strong mechanical and communication skills,

Qualifications

• Must hold valid MOT Tester licence or Level 3 qualification.
• Experience in a professional automotive workshop.
• Strong diagnostic ability and mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT testing in accordance with DVSA regulations.
• Perform vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Carry out diagnostics and mechanical work on vehicle systems.
• Complete vehicle health checks and prepare inspection reports.
• Identify additional repairs and communicate findings.
• Use wheel alignment equipment and perform wheel alignments.
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop to ensure safety and efficiency.

Duties of the MOT Technician

• Conduct MOT testing in accordance with DVSA regulations
• Perform vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs
• Carry out diagnostics and mechanical work on various vehicle systems
• Complete vehicle health checks and prepare inspection reportsIdentify additional repairs and communicate findings effectively
• Use wheel alignment equipment and perform wheel alignment tasks
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop to ensure safety and efficiency

Requirements of the MOT Technician

• Valid MOT Tester licence and/or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Previous experience within a professional automotive workshop
• Strong mechanical skills and diagnostic ability as aMOT Technician
• Experience with servicing, repairs, and troubleshooting vehicle systems
• Customer-focused approach with good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence
