Universal Quantum Ltd. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain software components and user workflows for our modelling and simulation tools.

You will join scientists and engineers to own key parts of the simulation pipeline and optimise workflows, writing high-quality, well-documented code. The role requires strong skills in Python and at least one of C/C++ or Rust, experience with HPC, and a solid mathematics background.

Qualifications

• 5+ years delivering high-performance models and simulation software.
• Strong mathematical and analytics background.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one of C/C++ or Rust.
• Experience with HPC, hardware acceleration and parallelisation.
• Experience designing and optimizing simulation platforms for scientific or engineering applications.
• Start-up or fast-paced environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software components and user workflows for modelling and simulation tools.
• Own key components of the modelling and simulation pipeline and optimise workflows.
• Write readable, dependable, and well-documented code.
• Build intuitive tools and libraries for internal and external development teams.
• Support testing, optimisation, validation and deployment to HPC and cloud environments.
• Assess trade-offs across models, chips, algorithms and hardware processes.
