Job summary

Starling is seeking a highly motivated Mobile Security Engineer to design, build, and maintain security for our Android and iOS mobile applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement robust security controls and stay ahead of threats in a fast-paced fintech environment.

The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and delivering secure mobile experiences for customers while adhering to global security standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong Mobile Security technical knowledge across Android and iOS
• Experience with security for mobile applications and data on devices
• Proficiency in Swift for iOS and Kotlin/Java for Android
• Knowledge of public cloud (IaaS) technologies
• Reverse engineering capabilities for mobile apps
• Cryptography for data protection and network communications
• Awareness of mobile threat landscape including malware
• Experience integrating security via APIs
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams
• Experience in client-facing security consulting is desirable

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls for Android and iOS apps
• Collaborate with engineering teams to remediate mobile security vulnerabilities
• Provide technical consultancy to engineering and operations on secure mobile development
• Monitor emerging mobile security threats and trends
• Create automated security testing and vulnerability management in the mobile lifecycle
• Maintain compliance with global security standards and regulatory requirements
