Job summary

digiLab, a formative AI company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to help evolve The Uncertainty Engine. You will design and implement scalable Python services, extend ML capabilities in the backend, and own CI/CD while maintaining security and reliability.

The role emphasizes collaboration, agile practices, and proactive adoption of AI tooling in a fast-paced engineering environment, with on-site work in Exeter or Bristol.

Qualifications

• Significant industry experience in (scientific) software development.
• Proven experience building production APIs with FastAPI or similar async Python frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of Python, ML concepts, and DevOps/MLOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of high-quality software solutions.
• Extend ML library functionality to surface ML features via backend APIs.
• Build scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs with security best practices.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and deployments; ensure production reliability.
• Provide technical support and lead incident investigations; adopt Scrum practices.
• Collaborate with product management to translate requirements into technical solutions.
