Job summary

Blankstate, a London-based AI infrastructure company, seeks a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to bridge deep research with our production ecosystem. You will own the seam between research findings and engineering implementation, translating experiments into scalable systems while mentoring others.

The role collaborates directly with the Chief Data & Analytics Office and the Global Delivery team, offering technical autonomy and strategic influence in a novel architectural space.

Qualifications

• Six years or more building and shipping ML systems end-to-end with production impact.
• Strong on federated or edge ML systems, orchestration, or benchmarking.
• Ability to simplify while increasing capability and reduce complexity.
• Experience owning multi-surface engineering programs or deep component work.
• Senior persona who unblocks others by default.

Responsibilities

• Translate research findings into production engineering work and experiments.
• Own the seam between deep model research and production ecosystem.
• Drive production observations back into experimental probes with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with the Chief Data & Analytics Office and Global Delivery.
