Job summary

Wise is scaling its Risk ML platform and seeks a Senior ML Platform Engineer to build a greenfield platform for training, packaging, serving, and monitoring ML models for financial crime detection.

You will design scalable infrastructure, standardising the model lifecycle and enabling data scientists to focus on detection performance, not ops. Hybrid work in the UK with strong senior leadership backing.

Qualifications

• Experience building ML platform infrastructure in production (training pipelines, model serving, evaluation frameworks, or monitoring systems).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals; reliable, well-tested, maintainable systems (Python, Kotlin/Java, SQL).
• Experience with ML orchestration and model registries (Airflow, Kubeflow, MLflow).
• Product mindset for internal tooling; internal users are data scientists.

Responsibilities

• Design the declarative training pipeline, standardised and config-driven for non-developer use.
• Develop model packaging and serving abstraction with a unified API for multiple model types.
• Implement the model evaluation framework with standardised metrics and automated validation gates.
• Build model monitoring including drift detection, performance alerts, and retraining triggers.
• Own integration with Wise's central ML infrastructure and ensure lifecycle tooling aligns with shared foundations.
