Job summary

Wise London is hiring a Senior ML Platform Engineer to build a scalable platform for model development, packaging, and monitoring within the Risk ML team. You will design infrastructure turning bespoke workflows into a standardised, production-ready pipeline, enabling data scientists to focus on detection.

This greenfield project has leadership support and collaborates with data scientists, feature platform engineers, and Wise's central ML stack.

Qualifications

• Experience building ML platform infrastructure in production - training pipelines, model serving, evaluation frameworks, or monitoring systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals - Python, Kotlin/Java, SQL.
• Experience with ML orchestration (Airflow, Kubeflow, or equivalent) and model registries (MLflow or similar).
• End-to-end understanding of the ML lifecycle from data ingestion to monitoring.
• A product mindset for internal tooling and user-focused design.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building the declarative training pipeline - standardised, config-driven model training that any data scientist can use without writing deployment code
• Building model packaging and serving abstraction - a unified interface that handles multiple model types through a consistent API
• Implementing the model evaluation framework - standardised metrics, reproducible comparison, and automated validation gates
• Building model monitoring - drift detection, performance degradation alerts, automated retraining triggers, and audit trails
• Owning the integration layer with Wise's central ML infrastructure - aligning on boundaries for seamless tool adoption
• Maximising data science productivity - measure platform success by shifts from maintenance to detection improvements
