Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in London, UK, seeks a Machine Learning Engineer for Scale GP, our Generative AI platform. You will own retrieval and knowledge representation components end to end, from prototyping to production, spanning knowledge bases, vector stores, RAG pipelines and context engines powering enterprise agents.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years building production ML systems, with strong Python skills and deep retrieval/knowledge representation expertise.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience building ML systems for production
• Strong foundation in ML, benchmarks, and evaluation
• Proficiency in Python and production-quality code

Responsibilities

• Own large platform components end to end from design to production deployment.
• Develop and maintain knowledge representation systems (ontologies, knowledge graphs).
• Design and implement RAG pipelines with embedding, indexing, retrieval, and reranking.
• Build and maintain integrations between ML components and enterprise data sources.
• Develop context retrieval systems balancing recall, precision, latency and cost.
• Create evaluation datasets, metrics, and experiments for retrieval quality and agent performance.
• Support ML/LLM backends and data pipelines in production.
• Collaborate with product, ML, and infra teams to guide platform direction.
