Job summary

Deliveroo in London is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join a global DoorDash engineering team. You will build and improve models for recommendations, ranking and retrieval to surface restaurants, dishes and content to customers.

You’ll own ML problems end-to-end—from framing the challenge and data analysis to offline evaluation and production experiments. Strong collaboration with cross-functional partners is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Hands-on ML in production with strong deployment experience.
• Experience in recommendation, ranking or personalisation problems.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into scoped ML approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve recommendation, ranking and retrieval models.
• Own end-to-end ML problems from framing to production monitoring.
• Balance relevance with business constraints and user intent.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, PMs and Analysts to ship customer-facing products.
• Evaluate state-of-the-art ML methods and monitor production performance.
• Contribute to applied-science practice through reviews and experimentation.
