Job summary

Tesco UK in Welwyn Garden City is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. You will join the Data & Analytics team to build and deploy scalable ML solutions, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and product teams across Tesco's analytics platforms.

The role focuses on productionising models, MLOps practices, and delivering high-impact data products for store, online, and supply chain operations.

Qualifications

• A higher degree in engineering, computer science, maths or science.
• Experience building scalable, resilient software systems.
• Experience leading a small team of engineers.
• Commercial experience contributing to high impact Data Science projects.
• Experience in MLOps practices and tooling (e.g., feature stores, model lifecycle).
• Fluent in Python and at least one other programming language.

Responsibilities

• Participating in group discussions on system design and architecture.
• Translating product needs into technical requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Delivering high quality code and solutions into production.
• Performing code reviews to optimise performance of data science solutions.
• Supporting production systems, incidents and root cause analysis.
