Job summary

Anaplan Manchester is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer for our Predictive Intelligence team. You will build the ML Engine backend powering Syrup platform forecasting and analytics, collaborating with data scientists and platform partners to deliver production-grade services.

You will lead MLOps pipelines, model deployment, and scalable data processing, while owning on-call rotations and operational excellence. A strong Python background is essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building production backend services.
• Strong Python proficiency with production-grade code.
• Experience with Kubernetes in cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with data warehousing/analytics tech (Snowflake, Iceberg, Trino, Postgres).
• Experience deploying ML models in production and MLOps tooling (MLflow).
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and own meaningful systems.
• On-call experience and focus on operational excellence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, fault-tolerant predictive intelligence services as a core ML Engine backend contributor.
• Lead MLOps capabilities, including training pipelines, deployment workflows, and runtime infrastructure.
• Collaborate with data scientists to productionize models and stabilize experimental work.
• Drive evolution of forecasting, scoring, and data processing services for performance and cost.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and own operational health of production services.
• Lead design and code reviews, raising quality and mentoring engineers.
• Identify and drive platform improvements benefitting multiple services.
