Job summary

Anaplan, a leader in AI-infused scenario planning and analysis, seeks a Backend Engineer to join the Predictive Intelligence team in Manchester. You will build and maintain core backend services powering Syrup platform, focusing on forecasting, scoring, and data pipelines.

As part of a cross-functional team, you will write clean Python, work with data scientists, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure reliability. A strong foundation in backend systems and cloud access is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven backend engineering experience.
• Strong Python, well-tested production code.
• Experience with Postgres; data warehousing like Snowflake a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiar with ML/AI production workflows and data pipelines.
• Version control with Git and collaborative practices.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data processing components.
• Contribute to forecasting, scoring, and data processing services delivering insights.
• Write clean, well-tested production Python code with good engineering practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists/ML engineers to deploy models.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions; take ownership of features.
