Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of continual professional development.
• Associate or mentorship qualification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to network with senior colleagues within and external to the Trust.
• Experience leading change management programmes.
• Willingness to teach practice in a formal setting.
• Understanding of NHS initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure midwives provide a high standard of practice based on current guidelines and contribute to development of these.
• Support junior staff and students and be a resource for research-based information on midwifery practice.
• Assist the Midwifery leadership team in building a dynamic workforce and new ideas to improve efficiency.
• Maintain effective relationships with medical staff, health visitors, GP practices and other Trusts.
• Promote a positive team spirit across the midwifery service.
