Job summary

University College London (UCL) is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Analyst to support staff and students within the Information Services Division. You will manage enterprise messaging and collaboration services based on Microsoft 365, delivering improvements and automation with PowerShell.

You will own end-to-end change, coordinate with stakeholders, and lead technical change across Exchange, Teams and SharePoint while ensuring security and compliance in a large-scale environment.

Qualifications

  • In-depth experience administering Microsoft 365 including Exchange in a large-scale environment.
  • Experience administering SharePoint and Teams with governance and security awareness.
  • Ability to lead technical change and own end-to-end change processes from requirements to deployment.
  • Strong ability to communicate with senior stakeholders and translate tech changes into business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Microsoft 365 services at scale (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Own the end-to-end change process from requirements through design, implementation and training.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to product owners and IT teams.
  • Assist with integrations and information security/compliance considerations.

Job description

The Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions.

We are involved in Service Strategy and Improvemen, which is structured into nine departments: Director’s Office; Architecture; IT Change and Project Delivery Services; IT for Professional Services and the Bartlett; IT for SLMS, IOE and Humanities; IT Service Delivery; Learning Technology and Media Services; Research IT Services; and Service Strategy and Improvement.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join UCL’s Information Services Division (ISD) as a Senior Microsoft 365 Analyst supporting UCL’s staff and students. Within ISD, this role is part of the IT Service Operations department which manages the infrastructure, data platforms and enterprise applications which underpin UCL's central IT services.

As part of a team your role will be to help deliver our enterprise messaging and collaboration services based on Microsoft 365. You will be providing technical support and using your knowledge and experience delivering ongoing service improvement, focussing on Exchange, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and the Office 365 platform

You will also be communicating with stakeholders assisting with integrations and provide subject expertise when required. Everything in this service is performed at scale therefore there is considerable use of PowerShell and other automation techniques to maintain the service.

About you

You will have in-depth recent experience of administrating Microsoft 365 including Exchange within in a complex and large-scale environment. You will be capable of owning and managing the end-to-end process of ‘change’. From gathering requirements, conceptual design, impact analysis and technical implementation. Spatial awareness of operational impact, support and training is a must.

You will also have experience of administrating SharePoint and Teams, with an additional emphasis on information security and compliance concerns. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to lead technical change, take ownership of issues and problems and advise the product owner and team members. The ability to communicate and articulate technical change with senior stakeholders into business and user impact also key.
