Placements24 is seeking a Principal Metallurgical Engineer to lead base metals processing near Randburg, Gauteng. You will drive optimization, innovation, and recovery improvements across flotation, leaching, smelting, and refining.

The role requires a Master’s or PhD in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering, 10+ years in metallurgical processing, and strong leadership. International travel and relocation support are possible for the right candidate.

Qualificações

• Senior metallurgical expertise in base metals processing such as copper, zinc, lead and nickel.
• Leadership experience with cross-functional teams and budgets.
• Experience with feasibility studies, pilot plant trials, and data-driven improvements.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the metallurgical team in process optimization and troubleshooting.
• Develop strategies to maximize metal recovery and product quality.
• Conduct feasibility studies and pilot plant trials for new technologies.
• Analyze plant data and implement improvements.
• Oversee accounting and reporting of production metrics.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain supplier/provider relationships.
• Travel to mine sites and conferences as required.
