Urban Outfitters Europe in London seeks an experienced Assistant Merchandiser who is highly commercial with a strong trading mentality. The role supports the Merchandiser across categories and may own areas over time.

You will collaborate with buyers, planners and the web team to optimize margins, manage seasonal plans, intake and allocations, and drive profit while delivering on brand direction and customer insight.

Qualifications

• Experienced Assistant Merchandiser with strong commercial and trading mentality.
• Experience supporting Merchandiser across multiple categories.
• Ability to manage OTB, margins, and buy-side collaboration.
• Excellent Excel and retail systems knowledge.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with buyers and senior planners.

Responsibilities

• Support Merchandiser with seasonal plans and forecasts.
• Assist in managing OTB and monitor risks and opportunities.
• Oversee intake margin with senior planners; ensure margins meet targets.
• Maintain weekly line cards and rebuy planning.
• Build partnerships with buyers to understand trends.
• Lead in-season trading for assigned product areas.
• Monitor weekly intake targets and flag risks to management.
• Plan MD and promotions to optimize profitability.
• Ensure timely product sign-off within lead times.
• Distribute stock to maximize store and product performance.
• Provide customer-focused market and trend insights.
• Ensure correct level of newness and mix timing.
• Collaborate with web team on inventory and stock.
• Coach and develop MAA staff.
