Peacocks in Cardiff is seeking a Merchandiser to join the Merchandising team. You will own the department vision, balance range with brand strategy, and work across the business to deliver exciting ranges that drive sales and maximise profit.

The role requires an ambitious, driven professional with strong commercial and analytical skills, capable of forecasting, range planning and managing budgets. A fast-paced retail environment with collaboration across teams awaits.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years’ experience in a similar fashion or retail role.
• Experience with UK/overseas manufacturers/factories.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills with forecasting and range planning.
• Experience in managing departmental budgets (OTB) and keeping stock levels on track.
• Effective at building relationships and communicating with people across the business.

Responsibilities

• Create a vision for the department that encompasses strategy, budget and product for both the short and long term.
• Work closely with the Buyer to build a balanced range in line with customer expectation that reflects the Peacocks brand strategy.
• Takes responsibility for developing departmental sales, stock, intake plans, profit and markdown.
• Ensure that space and option plans can deliver the departmental strategy, considering timings and stock builds.
• Develop merchandising strategy considering external factors and competitor activity.
