Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager to join our Mechanical & Electrical team on a large custodial sector project in Shaftesbury. The role covers pre-construction through to delivery, with responsibility for budget, schedule, safety and quality, and ongoing client communications.

Applicants should have CSCS and SMSTS qualifications, solid contract knowledge, and excellent stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• CSCS card and SMSTS qualification or equivalent proof
• Experience as a Project Manager with knowledge of contract conditions and construction law
• Excellent communication skills across levels to achieve client satisfaction
• Commercial awareness and proactive health, safety and risk management
• Understanding of construction methods, design and build processes, and proficiency with planning software

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction and construction activities for projects up to £45m, delivering on budget and schedule
• Promote safety, health and environmental culture across all project activities
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, build collaborative relationships and ensure performance standards
• Oversee design management, programme delivery and quality compliance per project plans
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and regular progress reporting

Job description

We're looking for a Senior MEP Project Manager to join our Kier Mechanical & Electrical team delivering a large scale project in the Custodial sector.

Location: Shaftesbury, Dorset
Hours: Full Time Permanent - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior MEP Project Manager, you'll be working within the Kier Mechanical & Electrical team, supporting them in delivering complex MEP design and build projects. Your day to day will include:

• Leading pre-construction and construction activities for projects up to £45m, ensuring delivery within budget, to programme and quality expectations
• Promoting a strong safety, health and environmental culture across all project activities
• Managing subcontractors and suppliers, building collaborative relationships and ensuring performance standards are met
• Overseeing design management, programme delivery and quality compliance in line with project execution plans
• Maintaining excellent client relationships through clear communication and regular reporting on project progress

This role of Senior Project Manager is great for you if:

• You hold a CSCS card and SMSTS qualification, with relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in managing operational projects
• You have proven experience as a Project Manager with strong knowledge of contract conditions and construction law
• You possess excellent communication skills and can influence effectively at all levels to achieve high client satisfaction
• You have sound commercial awareness and a proactive approach to health, safety and risk management?
• You understand construction methods, design and build processes, and are confident using planning software
