Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Senior MEP Design Manager / Senior Technical Manager to lead a new team across major South West projects. The role focuses on pre-construction, design development and technical delivery, with project values from £5m to £50m and a brand-new opportunity to shape technical strategy rather than merely producing drawings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading MEP design on complex construction projects.
• Strong pre-construction and technical risk management experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with CIBSE, IET or IMechE is desirable.
• Experience across healthcare, commercial, leisure, MOD or MOJ sectors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the MEP design process from pre-construction through to delivery.
• Review and challenge designs to ensure practical, coordinated and compliant outcomes.
• Identify technical risks early and develop effective solutions.
• Develop technical strategies and project deliverable plans.
• Coordinate consultants, designers, specialists and supply chain partners.
• Lead design reviews and ensure actions are followed through.
• Drive value engineering while maintaining quality and performance.
• Manage consultant scopes, fees and performance.
• Ensure compliance with Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations and industry standards.
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
