Job summary

Dalkia UK, part of the EDF group, is seeking a Senior MEP Design Manager / Senior Technical Manager to lead MEP design on major construction projects across the South West.

You will shape technical strategy, oversee pre-construction and design delivery, coordinate consultants and supply chain, and ensure proposals meet safety, quality and budget targets on projects valued up to £50 million.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading MEP design on complex construction projects.
• Strong pre-construction and technical risk experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness including consultant fee management.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• Chartered or Incorporated status, or working towards it (CIBSE, IET or IMechE).

Responsibilities

• Lead the MEP design process from pre-construction through to delivery.
• Review and challenge designs to ensure they are practical, coordinated and compliant.
• Identify technical risks early and develop clear solutions.
• Create technical strategies and project deliverables plans.
• Coordinate consultants, designers, specialists and supply chain partners.
• Lead design reviews and ensure actions are followed through.
• Drive value engineering without compromising quality.
• Manage consultant scopes, fees and performance.
• Ensure compliance with Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations and industry standards.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
