Job Description:

Radius is seeking a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager with experience in Data Centre, Life Sciences, or critical infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Programme Delivery Director, the Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager will provide in-house Quantity Surveying services on infrastructure projects and programmes.

This includes estimating, budget forecasting, cost plan management, consultant and contractor selection, tendering, negotiations, valuations, variation control, cost reporting, and final accounting. Additionally, supporting financial management functions such as Purchase Order reconciliation and cash flow management.

Candidates should have over 5 years of experience managing construction projects, preferably within the data centre industry or complex service environments.

Extensive experience in project estimating and cost planning is essential.

The role involves managing construction contracts valued between £10m-£30m, especially where external QS firms are not appointed.

Excellent communication skills are required to explain technical matters clearly to non-technical audiences.

Demonstrable experience managing critical supply chains and a solid track record in risk management are also necessary.

The main responsibilities include:

• Owning all commercial aspects of pre-contracting for projects, including cost estimation, planning, funding, and procurement strategies.
• Preparing contract documents, managing legal support, and overseeing third-party appointments.
• Representing the company in pre-contract meetings, managing tenders, and negotiating with suppliers and partners.
• Managing cost control, reporting, and reconciliation processes, including variations and interim valuations.
