Job summary

The Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking skilled Mental Health Practitioners (Band 6) to join the new Initial Response Service (IRS) in Norwich. You will undertake rapid mental health and risk assessments, provide senior clinical leadership and help shape a 24/7 crisis access pathway for urgent and routine referrals.

Qualifications

Recognised core Mental Health Professional Qualification.
Mentorship qualification or ENB998 equivalent.
Management course or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Undertake telephone and digital triage assessments for mental health needs.
Complete holistic mental health and risk assessments and care plans.
Coordinate urgent interventions, referrals and onward support.
Collaborate with GPs, emergency services and community teams for timely access to care.
Provide clinical supervision and support to call handlers and junior clinicians.
Contribute to service leadership and quality improvement.
