An established NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Band 6 nurse to join a dynamic team in a challenging yet rewarding role. This position focuses on providing high-quality mental health care within an 8-bedded PICU, emphasizing person-centred and recovery-focused interventions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The Trust values flexibility and offers various development opportunities, making it an excellent place for passionate healthcare professionals to grow and make a difference in the lives of patients.
We pride ourselves in striving to be an employer of choice.
At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us, our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that's job share, part time or another flexible pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a 'home' office base indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
The successful applicant will be an NHS employee and may therefore have contact with vulnerable service users. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been necessary to take significant steps to protect the health and safety of our staff, service users and those attending our sites. Unless exempt, we encourage and support staff to be vaccinated as this remains the best line of defence against COVID-19.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Band 6 nurse to join our team working within an 8 bedded PICU that provides assessment and treatment for inpatients aged 18 and over, presenting with a mental health crisis.
This role is not for the faint-hearted; it will be challenging and pressurised, but ultimately it will be extremely rewarding and have an emphasis on providing a therapeutic environment which promotes the principles of person-centred care that is least restrictive and recovery focused. The post requires an individual with strong communication skills who has the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary ward team. This role requires someone who can work under pressure and be adaptable.
Applicants must have relevant experience of working within a mental health setting, be flexible, hardworking and compassionate with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be confident in delivering least restrictive, recovery-focused interventions, giving consideration to risk management and adapting to ensure care is personalised to meet individual needs.
You will need to be a versatile practitioner who is committed to delivering a quality service; you will be reflective, articulate and an excellent team player. You will need to demonstrate skills in leadership and supervision. You will have access to training and development opportunities, annual appraisals and clinical supervision.
